Es un chorizo curado que ha llevado un tiempo de secado de 21 días y su consumo se realiza en crudo. A diferencia de otros chorizos, el Chorizo Sarta de Embutidos Hortanco no lleva ni colorantes, ni conservantes y en él se distinguen unos ligeros toques ahumados, sin que lleguen a predominar, lo que permite apreciar los sabores del pimentón con el que está elaborado dándole un característico sabor artesano.
